Melissa is a Durango native and brings experience and knowledge of the area to all of her clients. The moment you sit down and talk with Melissa, she makes you feel comfortable and confident. Melissa is a highly motivated, positive, honest and hard-working person.
Melissa was born and raised in Durango and attended Fort Lewis College. Prior to practicing real estate, Melissa worked in sales for a national company. During this time, she was able to start investing in real estate and that is when she found her passion. After deciding to pursue real estate, she realized the value of understanding the loan process as well as the sales process. She worked as a mortgage broker for over 3 years before obtaining her real estate license in 2005. Melissa has been in real estate since 2005. She has been awarded Rookie of the Year, Growth Achievement and was honored with the Spirit Award for her community mindedness.
In her free time, she can be found riding her bike or horse on the trails or roads surrounding Durango. She is a volunteer coach for DEVO, Durango’s junior development mountain bike organization, has volunteered with Trails 2000, is on The Iron Horse Bicycle Classic organizing committee, which her father and uncle started, and organizes fundraisers for various organizations.
If you are looking for someone who has your best interests at heart and will help you achieve your real estate goals, Melissa will work on your behalf and make the process as seamless as possible while listening to YOUR needs and sharing her passion for what the Durango area has to offer.
Chris Wherry was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. At the age of 11, Chris began his first career when he fell in love with the sport of road cycling. His passion for the sport grew quickly and he ultimately spent 13 years as a top professional. His biggest win came in 2005 when he won the U.S. Professional Road Race Championships. That same year he moved to Durango after discovering the wonderful lifestyle in Southwest Colorado.
Since retiring from racing in 2009, he has spent two years as a team director, traveling the world with one of the top professional cycling teams. Chris’ drive and determination as a cyclist has helped transition him to life off the bike. His attention to detail, personal and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to almost any situation, make Chris the ideal person to handle an effective real estate transaction. Having always been a part of successful teams, it was only natural for him to join with his wife Melissa, to create an excellent new team. Together they will help make your real estate goals a reality.
Whether you are selling your home or buying a new home, Melissa and Chris knows it is a huge step in your life and she is here to make it as smooth as possible.
Everyone remembers the first house they moved in to – whether it was as a child with your family, as a university student with friends, or with your spouse – because your home is a piece of your identity. To us, that identity is the key piece. We love Durango and want what you love about Durango, your lifestyle, your goals to be reflected in your home.
At Enjoy Durango, we understand the importance of that link and make sure that you're incredibly happy with your home and its value as a long-term investment. Do you want your home to fall within a specific school district? Do you want your home steps away from the ski slopes or steps away from Downtown Durango? Do you want to be able to easily access trails for hiking and biking?
Whether you are selling your home to buy another Durango home that is a better fit or you are relocating, we will make sure that the whole transaction is seamless. We are your partner in maximizing your profit, ensuring that your goals are met, getting deadlines completed efficiently, and making the entire process smooth in selling your home.
We do more than just sell you a home, or sell your home. We work with you as a partner and do whatever we can to make you succeed.
